Dress appropriately for the interview. Wear clean and presentable work clothes for the weld test. If it's an interview for an industrial job, make sure you dress appropriately for a shop tour. Wear steel-toed boots and bring along any other PPE necessary to enter a manufacturing environment.
Hygiene is important! Don't be the smelly kid in class. Make sure you shave if needed, groom your hair, and smell nice.
Do NOT use tobacco during an interview. Leave the spit cup in the truck!
Do not use profanity in the interview. You want to present yourself professionally. Leave shop talk for the shop.
Be prepared to highlight your strengths. Have some quick, ready to deliver highlights about your capabilities, skill set, best weld processes, career milestones, etc.
